OP–1 field, OP–XY and the rest of the field system, uses the media transfer protocol (mtp) as the primary method to import and export content, such as drum kits, synth patches, tape files and album files. here's how to access these files.
macOS 11 or later, including Sequoia 15.6
since macOS does not have native support for mtp we've made the field-kit utility app which provides a finder integration to OP–1 field. download field-kit for macOS here:
once the field-kit app is installed and running, you will see small usb icon in the top of your taskbar. any compatible units will be automatically detected, and you can toggle mtp on and off.
older macOS versions
older macOS versions does not have native support for mtp and is not compatible with the field-kit app. use the third-party app android file transfer:
windows and linux
windows 10 and 11, as well as linux, has native support for mtp.
here's how to connect OP–1 field:
- connect OP–1 field to your computer using usb-c.
- hold shift and press com.
- press T4 (mtp) to enter mtp mode.
- OP–1 field will mount and offer direct access from the file explorer / file manager.
