TX–6 is compatible with a lot of different usb devices, including phones, tablets and computers, instruments with audio and midi over usb, as well as thumb drives, sd cards and external ssd drives for recording.
audio and midi over usb
TX–6 can act as usb host for audio and midi, and be connected directly to usb class 1 compliant devices. in the example above TX–6 is connected directly to OP–1 field, for both audio and midi over usb-c.
usb thumb drives
to record directly over usb, connect a usb type-c flash drive to the usb-c port. we have tested and verified thumb drives of all sizes, from brands such as kingston, samsung, and sandisk, as well as a lot of no-name brands. to use a thumb drive with usb type-a, use an adapter cable.
external ssd drives or sd card
if using an ssd drive or an sd card you will need to power it externally, through a usb hub or dongle. we have tested and verified usb hubs and dongles from from brands such as anker, belkin, caldigit, kingston, etc. as well as a lot of lesser known brands. it can be that some ports work, while others don't, even on the same hub. your mileage may vary so do as much testing as you can. the important thing is that the selected port can deliver enough power.
format the drive assigned to TX–6, on a disk level (not volume level) according to the following standard:
- format: FAT (FAT16 or FAT32, not ExFAT or NTFS)
- scheme: master boot record (not guid)
